It's been exactly 25 years since my grandfather, Lucjan Pawłowicz, died. I was only two years old then, so I barely got to know him - but the stories I've heard about his eventful and even tumultuous life could fill a couple of novels. Maybe I'll write them someday. He deserves it.

The elderly lady in this picture was my grandfather's oldest sister. She died last week, at the age of ~95 (I think even she wasn't exactly sure how old she was). I've taken this photo some 5 years ago, so somewhere around her 90th birthday, in front of her small country cottage. She was still as witty, ironic and clear-minded as ever. Go with God, granny - and lighten his day!

Today was the world premiere of the second part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last of the movies in this series. Unfortunately, yours truly couldn't be there due to some prior arrangements ;) Alas, I present you with a photo taken two years ago, during the Polish premiere of the 6th part - i.e. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The occasion was honored by the appearance of Bonnie Wright and Matthew Lewis, who play the parts of Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom. My grandparents-in-law are having their 60th, so called 'diamond', wedding anniversary this year and today they, along with 3 other couples, were invited by the mayor to a congratulatory event. They already got a medal from the president on their 50th anniversary... this time they were given a beautiful glass flower-vase... I wonder what's the next gift gonna be, in ten years time ;)
